Croxteth Country Park

If you’re in the mood for exploring, the Country Park which forms the grounds of the exquisite Croxteth Hall, is full of interesting features and opportunities for discovery. There are acres of space to explore the natural habitats of creatures big and small and the expansive lawns, fields, and woods make it a fantastic place for outdoor adventures. The children’s play area located next to the main Hall is a great place for younger visitors to let off steam and the green gym is ideal for the big kid in everyone to try some outdoor exercise.

If you’re looking for a more tranquil experience, a stroll in the wild meadows of our grounds is a perfect place to wind down. Alternatively, the expansive green space, woods, and meadows have a calming and peaceful impact and are ideal for a mindful break from the hustle and bustle of modern-day life.

Victorian Walled Garden

The Victorian Walled Garden, once tended by the gardeners who grew produce for ‘the big house’ adds to the already impressive surroundings of Croxteth Hall and Country Park. Untouched by time, this hidden treasure houses a unique range of plants, some of which are not found elsewhere. In addition to colourful scented borders and well-stocked vegetable plots, the Walled Garden also boasts greenhouses displaying part of Liverpool’s very special botanical collection – mostly tropical plants from around the world dating from 1803.

The Garden is open between April and September so why not visit and see the impact of the changing seasons? Whichever month you visit though, you’ll find a peaceful space to relax in restful surroundings.

Today’s gardeners at Croxteth are always pleased to give advice or answer any questions you may have.
